Operando infrared spectroscopy of fuel cells/ batteries
The IR-XAS cell enables infrared and X-ray absorption spectroscopy of membrane electrode assemblies under normal operating conditions. The spectroscopy cell has a 9-pin connector for interfacing to an EZstat potentiostat/galvanostat. The EZstat controls the cell potential or current, and the temperature of the reactant transfer lines and humidifiers. A slot on the underside of the cell ensures precise positioning of the cell within a Pike DiffusIR™ diffuse reflection accessory. The cell features a pin-style upper flow field to optimize flow distribution around a CaF2 window.
Steel rule cutting dies are included for gasket cutting (two for Teflon gaskets and one for cutting of the gas diffusion layers).
Replacement parts are available.
The Operando cell interfaces with an IR diffuse reflectance accessory (i.e. DiffusIR™, Pike, WI). Additional charge is required for adaptation to other diffuse reflectance devices.

Operando Raman spectroscopy of fuel cells/ batteries
The operando Raman spectroscopy cell enables acquisition of Raman spectra of the membrane electrode assembly catalytic layer under normal operating conditions, eliminating interference from supplemental electrolytes. The cell dimensions provide versatility and ease of use in a confocal Raman microscope. The cell assembly includes a 9-pin connector for connection to an EZstat-Pro potentiostat/galvanostat and temperature controllers. The EZstat-Pro controls the cell potential or current, and the temperature of the cell, reactant transfer lines and humidifiers. The cell features a pin-style upper flow field to optimize flow distribution around the quartz window.

Operando infrared electrochemical cell.
The operando electrochemical cell enables infrared and Raman spectroscopy of working electrode discs (5.0 mm OD x 4.0 mm thick) under flowing solution. The spectroscopy cell allows for use with Pt counter electrodes and Ag/AgCl reference electrode (6mm OD). Teflon 1/8″ tube fittings.
